Hell, this has taken ages to get around to, and it's not like I've been doing a lot either. Just drifting ... a bit of art here, some writing, plenty of reading and a ton of driving. Just enjoying the summer I guess. And now it's nearly over. Time for a new season anyway.
The Star Wars movies were a bit of a bust, and heresy that it may be, I enjoyed the prequels much more than the originals. Sorry, I never thought I'd say that!
Now though, I'm fully back into it. The Festival of Lights was a great success and over 100,000 people saw at least a part of my animations over the nearly two months it was on! I'm fully stoked with that and the feedback I've received has been great.
Now to add some new stuff, rearrange and re-edit the original and I'll get it out onto DVD sometime this year.
I've been caught recently by tons of black and white WWII footage - there's something about black and white that just gives it drama and context. That's something I might have a go at - monochrome art and animation. Something different for me.
I've also been writing, something I've always wanted to have a go at, but just never gotten around to. I've posted the first page of my story "Mullet and Chin" here on deviantART. The saga is coming along well now and I'm really enjoying the chance to 'paint' with words. Excellent.
