Firstly, I must give a huge apology to everybody who has sent me a message over the past few weeks and got no reply. Sorry!

Just over two weeks ago I started getting what I thought was a cold. Wrong! I've had deadly 'man'-flu before, but now realise I've probably never been sick in my life. I've just got my voice back, and for somebody who loves to shout and make heaps of noise that's been torture. I couldn't read, smoke, drink coffee, listen to music, eat or do anything but cough and moan - and I'll usually do more of everything when I've got a cold (being of obstreperous nature - like the kite. LOL).

The weather has been shit and my lady spent her week off work looking after me. Bless her. My voice has only just started coming back over the past couple of days and I won't be shouting until the weekend, but I have a cigarette smoking away in the ashtray next to a half-full cup of nearly cold instant coffee as I type, so things can't be that bad.

I started reading again at the weekend. Biggest of all addictions. To me, reading is one of the biggest (and best) facets of being a human being and having a blinding headache and blurry vision has sucked nuts.

I've mostly been listening to TV.

News and documentaries make me realise I probably read too much history and not enough current events.

I watched Black Gold on the doco channel and realised I was the luckiest bastard in the world. Some people's lives suck hugely. If that's not bad enough, some huge corporations are keeping them poor to maximise their profits! Unfuckingbelieveable! Best and brightest? Voted most likely to strike it rich? Probably.

Now I've got that off my congested chest I'll get on with replying to all the cool messages I've been sent. Adios.

Alastair, it is so good to hear from you, I was starting to get worried. Stupid human nature to think the worst, car accidents, sick kids, volcanic explosion and all those life changing things.
Sorry, don't mean to trivialize your flu, sounds serious to last so long and affect you so badly. Hope no one else in the family got it too.
I had viral pneumonia once and coughed for three months, the lungs were just plain drowning.
Hope you've been planning and scheming some new art in the back recesses of your mind while under the influence of codeine!
Now take a big drag from that cigarette, and have a good strong coffee and all will be right with the world again.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Big get well cuddle from Sue (No kisses sorry, don't want the yucky germs)

Thanks Amy - I am a creature of bad habits, so it's nice to be back again.

And thank you too ... lovely to be back in the groove.

Hi Sue,
Thanks so much. Glad to be back into it - and no you don't want the yucky germs! I saw on Sky News Australia that we have transferred the flu over to Oz and it's causing concern over there. It's bloody horrible. First year in ages I haven't had a flu jab and I get it straight away! Typical.
I haven't really been doing any art, but yes, deleriously came across some new ideas in my head. I'll keep you posted.

Finally got my voice back after nearly three weeks. For such a noisy bastard that's been hellish. LOL.
